Funding Sought to Support Development of DSEQ

Following the launch of Digbeth Social Enterprise Quarter (DSEQ) in December 2013, members of the Digbeth, Highgate and Cheapside Social Enterprise Network (DHCSEN) have met and mapped out their aspirations for the Quarter. Three strands of activity have been identified, which members will work on in clusters and sub-groups. These are Economic Impact, Environmental Impact and Social Impact. Funding is now being sought to enable their proposals to become a reality.

At the meeting of DHCSEN on 18th February, members spoke about their concerns and priorities for the area and created a list of actions they felt it would be realistic to take in the first year. Some of the work can be done on a voluntary basis, but it was recognised that it would also be necessary to identify specific projects and seek funding in order to have a significant impact and ensure that local people really benefit from the Quarter.

Members have gone away tasked with seeing what they can do to support the development of DSEQ.
