Digbeth Connect Coffee Morning
Yesterday morning we held our first Digbeth Connect Coffee Morning. This was an experimental session, breaking from the Digbeth Social Enterprise Quarter’s traditional networking event but what an event!
We were visited by the new proprietors of the Warehouse Cafe in the Friends of the Earth and were able to arrange a program of business support, starting with a business diagnostic and we will be moving onwards to assist with the development of their business plan, discuss the development of new services and create contingency plans for disruption as HS2 construction moves closer to Allison Street.
We were also visited by Tahir Ahmed, Community Engagement Lead with Balfour Beatty VINCI Joint Venture, who will be beginning the construction work on the HS2 project this year, bringing tens of thousands of jobs to the city. We discussed how Balfour Beatty Vinci Joint Venture could support the local economy through social enterprises and how we could create opportunities to build new markets and procurement opportunities with this large construction organisation.
Watch this space!
Kind Regards
